The Green Sea Programme is developing locations across the South Wales Coastline.

Here is a brief description of how each location will benefit from this funding, for more information please follow the links.

Aberafan Promenade - Thanks to the project, Aberafan are transforming the sunken gardens area with new railings, seating, access paths and a much-needed wooden beach shelter. The project will also develop a seaside-theme play area, suitable for children aged two to five and provide new signage along the beach front.

Blue Flag & Green Coast Award Infrastructure Project - Green Sea funding is enhancing access to a number of its Blue Flag and Green Coast beaches. New wooden walkways will be built at Newgale Sands and Tenby South Beach, and notice boards and new signage will be installed at key destination sites.

Blue Flag Information Mobile Unit - A mobile unit will move around the different award beaches throughout the season to inform and educate about safety and environmental issues, beach user rules, recycling and beach cleaning, bylaws and other interesting information about Pembrokeshire's beaches.

Cefn Sidan, Pembrey - The local authorities are updating their existing beach toilets and creating a new parent and toddler unit for the area.  

Newgale Car Park Improvements - Green Sea funding has enhanced the main car park environment, and has improved visitor facilities with the addition of recycled furniture, an outdoor shower, cycle racks and improved access to the beach.

Pendine Promenade - This project will create a continuous promenade route from its interface with the Ministry of Defence land in the east to Dolwen Point in the west. The promenade will also feature many additional upgrades and developments - making it more user friendly.

Poppit Sands Car Park Improvements - This upgrade of the existing car park includes improving the surfacing, drainage and landscaping to bring the facility up to the standard expected of this Blue Flag beach. 

Port Eynon - This project will implement a number of small scale improvement projects at Port Eynon Bay, probably the Gower's most popular beach, including improved signage to Port Eynon Bay, interpretation boards to enhance the visitor's experience and improved access and safety at the beach slipway access.

Saundersfoot Harbour Toilets - Green Sea funding will be used to refurbish the public toilet block in Saundersfoot Harbour, with the addition of a secure locker and shower facilities. 

Sea, Sand and Sort - This beach litter recycling scheme is providing recycling and general litter facilities at 14 rural beaches across Pembrokeshire, which have been awarded a Green Coast Award. The Scheme will also be providing recycling facilities for mixed glass at Pembrokeshire's 13 Blue Flag Award beaches.
