Wildlife in this area

There's a lot going on here - Aberafan is one of the top 5 wintering grounds in Britain - see if you can spot the Crested Grebe!

You can also see divers and sea ducks off the coast! There's a small chance of spotting Harbour porpoise off the coast too and even otters have been spotted - find out more: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Harbour_porpoise

Famous inhabitants of the area are the small blue butterfly which are very unusual http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?species=minimus

It's worth noting that there is a partial dog ban from May to September - for more information on the dog ban follow this link: http://www.npt.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=283
